<p>I keep getting an error message that says:</p><p>Data error encountered in folder</p><p>Folder name: Main Folder</p><p>File name: main.PMM</p><p>Probable invalid offset in index record</p><p> </p><p>I imagine there is a fix for this. How do it do it?</p><p>Thanks.</p>

You can attempt a repair of the MAIN.PMM file using the MBXMAINT_UI utility but that will bring back all deleted messages since the last time deleted space was recovered.  An alternative is to replace the existing MAIN.PMM file with a new one as per the steps below. <ul><li>While in Pegasus Mail create a new folder named MainTemp.</li><li>Copy all of the messages from the MAIN folder to the MainTemp folder.</li><li>Confirm copy was successful.</li><li>Close Pegasus Mail.</li><li>Use a file explorer to navigate to your home mailbox directory (default is C:\PMAIL\MAIL or C:\PMAIL\MAIL\ADMIN)</li><li>Locate the MAIN.PMM and MAIN.PMI files and move them to a different directory (can be deleted once the process is successfull).</li><li>Navigate to the \DEFAULTS directory of the Pegasus Mail programs directory (default is C:\PMAIL\PROGRAMS\DEFAULTS).</li><li>Copy the MAIN.PMM and MAIN.PMI files from there to your home mailbox directory.</li><li>Start up Pegasus Mail.</li><li>You should now see an empty MAIN folder.</li><li>Go to Tools>Options>General settings>Basic settings and use the "Select" button to select the new MAIN folder as the default mail folder.</li><li>Copy the messages from MainTemp to MAIN.</li><li>Confirm successful copy.</li><li>Delete MainTemp.</li><li>Done.</li></ul><p> </p>
