AW: Is it possible to keep images in copy-to-self mails?

I use "Apply an genaral rule set to selection" where i check for the most popular extensions (pdf,jpg,doc,zip...). Afterwards i use "Delete attachment".

Our problem is that we regularly have to recommend or explain things to our customers. Therefore we are often copying images directly into the mail body. Unfortunately all embedded images getting lost for copy-to-self after sending. When re-open such a sent e-mail, only a grey rectangle is being shown at the position of the embedded image.

I'm aware that this is a "feature and not a bug" [:D] to reduce the needed harddisk storage space. Finally it's the same procedure as for attachment. But maybe there an option to adjust Pmails behaviour when copying-to-self?

I know, I could save (or permanently save) an e-mail as a template where all things (embedded images and attachment) are being kept in place. But often my users forget to save the mail as a template and would like to use a former e-mail again.

Maybe this topic was already discussed in past. But at the moment I do not find it again.

I provide IT support and frequently use images in messages and this is the single thing I would change in Pegasus Mail - storage is not an issue anymore.

There are two ways around it - cc or Bcc yourself into the message, or extract a copy from your sent/received archive if you keep one.

I'd welcome a checkbox in the message composer next to the "Copy self" letting me to "Store attachments in copy to self" (shorter text would be better). Currently, I do Bcc for most emails with attachments sent (as I want to store them) but sometimes I forget. But automatically Bccing all emails instead of copy to self is not convenient as then my own address is shown in the message list instead of the addressee.

Also, it would be nice to have an option to delete some attachments from received messages.

You can do this, but the message needs to be in your new mail folder. When the message is in the new mail folder it is transformed into a single file (a .cnm). Open the Attachments tab, highlight the attachment and click the Delete button.

When the message is in a folder, it is merged with all the other messages in that folder, which is actually a file (a .pmm). You then lose the ability to remove attachments. So, just move the message(s) into your new mail folder to delete attachments from those messages.

That's right but you have to select and delete one attachment after the other. Multi selection unfortunately doesn't work. We are receiving mails with a lot of attachments day by day and have a company policy in place to delete attachments after saving them at a file server. But try to delete about 20 attachments ...this is a very annoying job. [:(]

What??? Miracle!!! I'm using Pegasus for decades but didn't know.

I

typically want to do it when the message is in my Inbox folder but I mean

inbox at the server (IMAP connected). I simply ignored that button,

maybe I realized it does not work ages ago and my brain wipes it off.

But it makes sense it works when the file is in my local inbox as .CNM file only, it is the easiest to do it there (as I foggily remember the IMPA/POP3 protocols, it is not possible to do it on the server, and when the file is stored in a local folder, then it would create a gap which could be compacted similarly as deleted messages, but that would require extra handling in addition to whole email deletions - so no wonder attachment deletions do not work there either).

Thanks for your guru hint!
