IMAP Question
Using v4.72.572
I'm thinking about switching from POP to IMAP and I've created an IMAP Profile, but when I click on check for mail, all I get is a single ring tone.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

With IMAP, you don't check for mail, you "Connect" the IMAP profile.
Tools > IMAP profiles > select the one you want to connect with > Connect button.
The IMAP connected mailbox will appear as an additional mailbox at the bottom of your folder list.
To disconnect, right click on the mailbox entry in the folder list, select Disconnect this mailbox.
