The only piece of this question that I think I can help with is the contacts part.
Pegasus Mail can import a tab delimited or tagged text file into and addressbook so you should be able to export from Thunderbird and then import into Pegasus Mail. The format may be an issue though. I believe it's normal to have to manipulate the exported data to get it on the correct format. The way to determining that format is to view a test addressbook exported from Pegasus Mail.
