AW: Failed attempt at renaming a public folder

Thanks Joerg.

I wondered if fixing the PMFOLDER.ID file would solve the problem so I added back the Flag and ID-Seed entries using the seed number from the folder name suffix.  All seems well since then.

Greetings Friends,

I attempted to rename a public folder which appeared to work fine but on the subsequent PMAIL startup the name in the folder list had been suffixed with "ID-Seed: 194318542" (eg: NewFolderNameID-Seed: 194318542).

The PMFOLDER.ID file for that public folder is missing its Flag and ID-Seed entries.  Its time stamp is around the time of the rename so I assume the missing entries are related to the rename attempt but am not certain.  The folder is still functioning so it appears that I will be able to create a new public folder and move the messages to it but I'm wondering if there is a known issue with renaming public folders.

Thoughts welcome.

TIA!

Hi Brian,

We have also different public folders in place and I know this behavior with the seed suffixes. This suffix appears often subsequently after renaming of public folders where other users have already running their Pmail sessions. Maybe there are some sync issues of the public folder name system when changing a folder name while other Pmail sessions are running. I remove the "seed" suffix often different times until Pmail accept it finally. [:)]
