As mentioned it never affected any part of the operation and does go away

Back again but this time very minor

Every time I open my mail folder a blue bar appears all the way across in area above the open, reply, forward and below

the file, edit, address. It just says "new mail folder #messages. Not a functional problem but something I'd like  to rid of

since I can obviously tell what's in my new mail folder just by looking

That is the folder window title bar.  Every Pegasus Mail folder window has one.  They can't be removed.

Well, maximizing the window would remove it, but then you cannot share space between multiple windows in Pegasus Mail.
