Hi,

why the pdf files will be never recognized as Acrobat file?
After i put the filetype in the rules for open files with Windowsapplication it will open normal after click but the type is always shown as unknown.
I have also tried to edit filetype.pm but without any result.

Is this a general bug and will be fixed with PMail 5?

Some .pdf attachments are not tagged in a way that they can be detected as .pdf files by Pegasus Mail. The closest I have come up with is as follows:

This entry in FILETYPE.PM:

PDF-document,0,X,0,.PDF

These entries in MIME-MAP.PM:

application/pdf = PDF-document
application/octet-stream = PDF-document

Ah oh, the mime-map.pm was new for me and yes with the modifications you wrote, I can see now the type. thx

By the way how is the priority of the configurations files, like FILETYPE.PM?
I have at the moment 3 of it, one in /programs, one in /ressource and one in /ressource.de.
Which file will be used? Or which will be used first if exists?
Could it be that only the file in the folder /programs will be used?

In your case only the one in \programs is being used. The ones in \resource and \resource.de are originals available to replace the one in \programs if you ever wanted to return to default.
