Password rememberance

Once again I have another off the wall question. Is there any way to see and/or review the password I entered during configuration. I'm currently seeing blackout dots preventing me from seeing what I entered. When I entered, I did not save for my records. If you recall I was trying get my Pegasus back and was having problems....when I was able didn't save. All mail is being received but simply wondered what I put in... like a real dummy

If you are talking about password to ISP, you need to Tools / Internet Options / click on create Internet Session Logs.

That will create log files that will include the plain text password information.

Make sure to never upload logs without removing the passwords, and generally good to delete the files once you have used them for what was needed.

Not always in plain text. Sometimes its Base64 encoded. If Gmail OAUTH2, you're out of luck since it works differently.

I have used several of these tools, some of which are no longer available on the web. One that is very effective at obtaining masked passwords is Asterisk Key, which you can find at https://www.passware.com/asterisk/

Run the program, then go to the dialog box of the application that contains the masked password, giving it focus. Then go back to Asterisk Key and click the Recover button. Your unmasked password will be displayed.

Haven't done OAUTH2 with my gmail account, so haven't seen what it reports.
But with Gmail, one can connect to the web page to check/change password, but changing it would require redoing the OAUTH2 setup, since change to password resets the special password and OAUTH2 as I understand it.

If the host still uses basic authentication then the easiest solution could be to change the password at the host, make a record of it, then enter in it the internet configuration host files, replacing the old password.
