First up, I've been tardy with progress reports recently - I apologize
for that. Partly it's because I've been spending much of my time
catching up on the huge system reorganization I've done here, and
partly it's because typing has been a very painful task for a few
months now (more on that later).
I'll get the most important issues out of the way up front - my
beta test team and I are currently finalizing the WinPMail v4.91
release archive, and as soon as they give me a final seal of
approval, I'll be releasing it without further ado.
Mercury v4.92, which is quite a major release despite the small
version number change, will be going into a final period of testing
once WinPMail is out - it's been running flawlessly on Demeter, my
new Internet presence system for both mail and web, for nearly
three months now, so very little testing should be needed. V4.92
includes the long-promised DKIM code, and full support for serving
static web sites, as well as support for automated LetsEncrypt
certificate issue and management using a program called WinACME,
which I can't include, but for which I will provide links in the
help file.
Finally, the Mercury licensing system, which has been unavailable
since Amazon messed me around, will finally be up again in a couple
of days - I have had to refactor it completely, but it's now good to
go once more.
Since the start of the year, I have been suffering a bout of
what I think of as RSI, although I believe the modern name is OOS -
in any event, severe nerve pain that is triggered mainly by typing
or using a mouse. The effect of this is that on a good day, I can
do about four hours of work before the pain gets too intense to
carry on, and on a bad day, I might not even be able to do anything
involving a mouse or keyboard. I've had a brief course of
physiotherapy, which helped a little, and my doctor has given me a
pretty grunty medicine that suppresses nerve pain, which has helped
a lot. The condition is gradually clearing up, but for a little
while yet I won't be able to work at my best rate.
That's about all I have to report at this time - I promise I'll try
to get back to regular updates from here on in, although until the
pain subsides a bit, they may be a bit shorter than usual.
All my best to you all.
Cheers!
