I have a gmail account for a long time that I can use without any problems. I just created another one that I needed. While I can log in on the gmail web site for the new email , I can't retrieve any email messages through Pegasus. The error I get is "Invalid username or password". I am using PMAIL v4.80. As far as I can tell, I configured the new PMAIL identity exactly the same as the old (except for the password, of course).

I seem to remember having to do something special with PMAIL a long time ago when gmail increased their security. Does that have to be done for each new gmail address?

Would installing v4.91 help? If so, please send installation instructions.

Yes. At a minimum you need to enable POP3 access in Gmail and then use an app password in Pegasus Mail. An app password is a password that Google issues for use with a third party email client like Pegasus Mail. A web search will reveal the details about this. Alternatively, starting in the v4.81 public beta is the ability to automatically create OAUTH2 authentication configuration. If you are currently access a Gmail account with 4.80 then you must be authenticating with an app password. Is one better than the other? I give a slight edge to OAUTH2 solely because it may help future-proof the process. An unknown is if/when Google will stop supporting the app password.

OAUTH2 is very complicated and not transparent. Configuration happens behind the scenes. When all the stars align and it works, then its great. When they don't, it is a PITA.

Just download it and run the .exe. I will recognize your 4.80 installation and offer to upgrade it. Do a full backup of your 4.80 first, just in case. You might want to consider upgrading to the 4.81 public beta instead of 4.91. 4.81 has been out for awhile, is well tested, and has proved to be rock solid. OTOH, 4.91 is newly released.
