Upgrade Worry

I am not a hot shot tech, so if you answer do so in layman terms. I currently have 2 computers, and a Iphone 13. One computer is Windows 11 home 64 bit, the other Windows 7 32 bit.

Its all fairly stable now, except lately sometimes when I send I get Pegasus detected spam, and it won't send. I trick it by using the Forward command, and it usually sends out. This is new....

I am on Pegasus 4.8.1028 and I am afraid to upgrade to 4.91.

Will I create a nightmare? Is there a benefit?

More detail would be needed to figure out what is going on here. Pegasus will not detect spam when sending but your SMTP service might. It is surprising that a forward overcomes it since forwards are more likely to fail. That said, I don't know how you are using the Forward command on a message that you composed. Details about the error you receive along with an explanation of the steps you take to then forward would be a start.

Version 4.80 had some bugs that were fixed in in the 4.81 public beta. V4.91 is essentially the formal release of 4.81. It contains some modernization in the code and the installer but no new functions or features. So, yes, I think there is a benefit. Will you create nightmare? Not unless something goes terribly wrong. If your installations of Pegasus Mail are fully contained in the subdirectory of C:\Pmail then a backup and a subsequent restore (if needed) would be easy.

If you have Pegasus Mail running on both your Win11 and Win7 machines, while in each one go to Help > About Pegasus Mail then press the Info button. In the resulting display look at these three entries and see if they match. If so, you have default installations. If not, make note of any differences and include them in a reply.
WINPMAIL.EXE directory: C:\PMAIL\Programs
Home mailbox location: C:\PMAIL\MAIL\Admin
New mailbox location: C:\PMAIL\MAIL\Admin

A possible reason might also be an AV or malware scanner (Windows Defender or replacements).
