I am glad the attachment of the old mail went well.
I also rely on a significant Tray folder structure. Many years ago I lost it due to a corrupted HIERARCH.PM file and was unable to restore it due to a bad backup. From then on I started prefixing my folder names with a reference to their parent tray. This way, if I ever lost Tray structure again, the prefixes would produce a folder sort order that would make it easy to rebuild the Tray structure. It wasn't a perfect answer since I knew I would likely need to open a number of messages to determine what some of the parent Tray names might have been. It also addressed the concern of duplicate folder names. I worked in accounting so had Tray names associated with customers and vendors, with folders in each that served the same purpose. The prefix allowed me to use the same remaining folder name (eg: Ven1_Bills, Ven1_Correspondence, Ven1_Purchases, Cus1_Invoices, Cus1_Correspondence).
Something to think about.
