Hello all,

we installed PM 4.91 on a new Win11 Laptop. Merged all the data from the old one and it all looked good. List of mails etc. until we found out that the body of the mail is blank. However, when you forward the mail, the body appears in the new mail.

It must be something with the display?
IERenderer?

Any help? We use the german version.

When you toggle the View between HTML and plain text, does any mail body then become visible?

Might the reader window message body pane be shrunk? (IOW, is the header pane stretched fully to the bottom of the window?) The divider between the two panes can be dragged so I'm wondering if it might have gotten dragged to the bottom.

The message is there, because if you look at the raw message it pops up with everything in ASCII.

When I toggle, it tells me that the pure text view is not available.

The comment on the size I am not really understanding.
What is odd however, is the fact, that when I enlarge the message window, there is a "box" with white borders that stays in the same size as the original window size.
What means IOW?

i checked also other messages. In some cases the toogle shows plain text message.
I think it is really a problem with the HTML display type.

On 11 January, a discussion was started that appears to be about the same issue. In it, the author of IERenderer offered a test version to see if it would solve the problem. There has not been any indication on that but I feel certain that he wouldn't mind if you requested the test version. You are right. We seem to have the identical problem. Wonder if they found a solution.

Update

Problem solved somehow by itself.
We installed yesterday the v4.8 to see if the reader works. It didn't. So today I received some suggestions by Michael what to do.
For that we reinstalled v4.9 and surprize, mails were readable... (so we did not go through Michael's recipe any more).
Also the renderer icon appeared in PMAIL! It was not there before.
OK, sometimes little ghost are playing tricks in the computer.

Now we leave it that way and hope it will work...

After thinking about it again it's very likely an issue with the cache path though nobody explicitely confirmed this yet: If the toolbar icon is also missing this confirms my assumption since it's extracted from the IERenderer library to the cache path if missing, so not showing up there must be a cache path issue.

For my current test version this is fixed as I was able to figure out the issue which would only affect users trying to use a different path than the current default which creates it in the respective Pegasus Mail user's new mail directory.

Only a single user reported off-forum to me having such an issue with relocating the cache path which made Pegasus Mail freeze on opening messages - although this latter might have been caused by another issues I fixed for the test version as well.
