The present Yahoo Mail 2026 requires permanent 2 Factor Auth repsp control of the personal identy by various modi.
Trying to simplfy the procedures by using PMAIL turns out difficult, perhaps impossible.
What are the actual experiences of the Community????
I am using Pmail for more than 20 years, but at present I fail to make it working.
I apply a App-PW installation, which results in an log in and a download of the inbox content, but after that using the pop3 resp. the imap protocol with acutal yahoo.login PW fails.(no authorisation)
Is there any advice to cope with this issue?
The actual thunderbird software uses to open for a permanent log in the YahooMail (browser)home page allowling to check the mail user identity.

you should be able to create a Yahoo app password which you would then use as the authentication password in Pegasus Mail POP3, SMTP, or IMAP host definitions. Are you saying that an app password no longer works?

Exactly :the for many years applied procedure based on an app password does not any longer work since end of 2025 as it did before,
Even the general Yahoo browser log in requires since recently an personal identification for every new login.

The app PW appears to be ok: it is indicated by Yahoo, that it is connected with the W11 system of the PC.

By using Pmail I intend to simplify the use of YahooMail without permanent identifications,double authorisations and unwanted ads and services offered by Yahoo login platform.

Changing the email provider would would not be so easy, as it implies to give up the email address.

But at present PMail allows no safe and reliable sending and recieving Yahoo Mail based emails.

I've been using my Yahoo account since ever. It is not a top notch service but works fine with Pmail, either with POP3 and IMAP, a little slow on the latter.
I don't use two-factor authentication nor the Yahoo App, so I'm not sure if this could make a difference on OP's case. The only change I had to make Pmail continue to work with Yahoo was creating the app password that I use exclusively on Pmail internet connection (POP3/IMAP/SMTP). To access Yahoo Mail through the Web interface I still use the regular password. I'm still running Windows 7.
Something to consider is the updating of procedures across the various Yahoo service servers. I have detected differences in treatment between Yahoo servers on more than one occasion. In some cases, such as with the adoption of the application password, the measure took about two years to be required on my account.
