The current version is 2.7.4.0 which I show was released in June 5. To check your version number, hover your cursor over the IERenderer toolbar icon.
The current version number will be displayed. If it is a lower version then yes, upgrading is worthwhile. Each release addresses new developments identified in the HTML content of email.

So first number is the day of month and second is month.
US using MM/DD/YYYY, but thing Germany using DD/MM/YYYY
