I have raised this issue previously, and just wish there was an easy solution. Somehow I was hoping it would cease to happen in v4.91 but no luck!

I regularly find unexpected entries in the Queue Manager of Pegasus mail on starting up. I have not produced them myself, they just appear.

I can delete them, BUT they reappear on the next opening of Pegasus.

So what causes these annoying messages. And how can I stop them from re-appearing? I have asked this previously but I'm hoping for a straight-forward suggestion as to the primary cause and simple process.

I might add that there is no way that I know that enables me to identify which ever mail message is causing the issue, though no doubt it is somewhere in the PMAIL message directory.

Might I suggest that a little fix might be to ensure that the message to be forwarded should not generate a repeat unless we ask for it. After all why on earth should it be expected that a deleted (or a sent) message in the queue should be regenerated the next time PMAIL is started?

AFAIK, messages get queued either when done so intentionally (queued instead of sent immediately), or when their their transmission fails which will cause them to be queued for a retry.

Do you know if the ones you find in the queue are copies of ones that were sent?

If you are curious about the files involved, these are the file extensions associated with queued messages. I hope this might help you identify what is going on.

• .PMW -- Outgoing messages in draft format
• .PMX -- Outgoing messages in final form (ready to send)
• .PNX -- The body content of an RTF (fancy) queued messages (always a corresponding .PMX or .PMW file). A .PNX file can also contain the body content of an RTF (fancy) saved message (always a corresponding .PMO file).
