Hmm.. I cannot figure out how to quote reply to each response posted here, so I'll do a bulk comments here..
Yes, "copy" is more correct t than "move", ty, go with that term..
Yes, if all or any email clients is too broad then just consider pmail's email client and proffer your response(s)..
Yes, EveryOne.net allows a modern implementation of both POP3 and IMAP..
"AIs" are not my go to if humans still exist somewhere on Earth's networks, but that would still have me looking for a subset of those online humans that knew something of the topic in the OP..
If i fail to find such human responses, i too, may be forced to consider what an "AI" has stolen from people's private or public online dialogs without explicit consent, and/or people's published documents that are usually copyrighted, and then blindly regurgitated (albeit full of errors)..
I have considered Thunderbird.., I would consider an email tool if a human has some experiences to share about using a particular tool or toolbox or type of such..
Mostly I do not think IMAP is the correct protocol bc of what is clearly inherent in that protocol's design, which seems to be to more or less 'reflect' the new or possibly current Inbox, there would have to be additional step(s) to actually fully copy all the past emails including attachments to the client location for offline storage..
To answer about my client platform, it would be either a WinPro10/11 PC or an Android phone..
Apologies for the possible tl;dr reactions of those disinclined to parse my coagulated replies here.. =)
