For what it's worth... I *have* got the ability to split a list mailing into multiple SMTP sessions on my to-do list, but I can't give you any firm timeframe when it might be available.

Hello I'm back again with another problem....makes me why I changed providers to a big company vs a small independent phone company. This time I appear to be having problems with my distribution list which I never had before.
I'm an email Chair for my alumni association and deal with a few hundred names. I have created a distribution list (due to that large amount) some time back and have used many times w/o problems
I used to create the message and place the number of the LIST.....PML given for a particular list created into the special category to be sent as a Blind cc therefore not showing every single email address. The distribution list concept was recommended within Pegasus Mail for such as purpose as I use. Like i said I never have had any problems before but Verizon now gives me these kind of relpies:

The majority of people do not receive the message I send for them....which includes myself as I've placed my name within the list. This has always shown me that the message has gotton out.
In the original heading where it says TO: I've always just said Alumni with subject line a normal subject.
How can I make sure my distribution list works with this provider? Do I now need to do something different?

Your ISP has limited the number of addresses any one message can have and so you get the error message when you go over the limit. The only thing you can really do is break that dist. list down in smaller pieces to remain within the limit. You could do this as a mail merge as well since this creates a separate message for each user. Your dist. list in this case would become the data file for this mail merge. It needs to be converted to either a tab or comma delimited file.
You could use Mercury/32 on your system and then setup a mailing list rather than a dist. list. You could then either use the "fanout" to break the mailing into multiple messages each with addresses within the limit. You can also use VERP error processing which creates a single message for each use.

You may need to give up on Verizon and move the list to a provider who supports mailing lists. If it's a one-way list (you send out), many hosting companies support that. I think you can get a $10/month domain with 1and1.com that supports 5 mailing lists per domain. YahooGroups.com offers free mailing lists at the expense of advertisements at the bottom of each list message.
