Proper Way to Update a Network Installation

We currently have about 25 or so users in the office using Pegasus 4.31 and I want to update to 4.41. The Pegasus executable and related files all reside in the \Pmail directory branch on one of our network servers. The users' mail directories exists in their own directories under \mail, which itself is *not* under the \Pmail directory.

So my question is, what is the official way to update Pegasus. I'm hesitant to run the installer because I don't want it to install or alter anything  on my local machine. If I remember correctly, in the past I just copied the new files over the new ones and when the (new) exe ran, it knew the Right Thing to do.

Is that the right way to do it? Should I just copy the 4.41 files into the existing \Pmail folder, overwriting everything else. Or should it happen a different way?

Thanks

Make sure that all users are not using Pegasus Mail and then just use the upgrade option when using the installer  you simply install over the old version and you are done.

Will that make any changes to my local machine (eg. altering the registry, creating any local files), or will all the changes be confined to the \pmail network directory?

No, none at all.  Pegasus Mail really does not use any registry.
