OS: win2kSP4 RU1, PM v4.41. All Data and Applications are kept on separate logical drives - drive c: is OS only.
I recencently had an 'unknown hardware error' that triggered a CHKDSK on each re-boot, the PC then restarted normally. The only answer, I felt, was to format drive c: and reload the OS. The problem persisted with 'unknown hardware error' but I was able to backup all data and the PMAIL\ADMIN folder. Then came the ubiquitous BSOD, even in 'Safe Mode'. This meant I could not access the PC, so a second re-boot and OS re-install was carried out with all peripherals removed. (The fault was eventally traced to a faulty floppy drive).
When I tried to re-install PM, I got a request for a 'User Name'. I tried all my identities and 'Admin' to no avail. I then decided to delete the PMAIL folder completely and begin afresh which worked ok. I transferred my saved ADMIN data to the new ADMIN file but the new install does not recognise the old mail folders from the saved ADMIN file or PMAIL.INI. Is there a solution to this? Are there any other user settings in files other than PMAIL.INI?
