I was confusing the filter rules with the toolbar icon that must filter the open folder only (no action option to delete on server).  The POP3 ruleset you pointed to does allow to delete on server... and that did the trick after I also selected the new ruleset in the POP3 account download controls.  Thanks Thomas!

Greetings to all,

Wondering if POP3 mail can be deleted on server with a filter... WITHOUT downloading the mail first?  I can't seem to find a setting to do this, but it would be a nice benefit, especially on a dialup connection to reduce connect times.

Possible but you'll have to at least download the headers.  Checkout Tools | Mail filtering rules | Create POP3 ruleset
