ClamWall and Local Messages

You say Clamwall is running OK, but why do you need to ignore local SMTP messages?  Is it about allowed attachments?

ClamWall is running very nicely on XP Pro with Mercury 4.52. However, I can't get it to ignore "local" emails. Under "ClamWall config", "Basic settings", I have "Leave messages from local senders untouched" checked. We have about 40-50 email accounts that are mostly accessed in-house from 192.168.1.x IP addresses using SMTP and POP3. I would like to have SpamWall ignore emails sent from these IP addresses. I do not want to change email clients (we use Eudora) nor use IMAP. Is there some way to do this?

Do you also have "Do not call AV on... local senders" checked?

I presume it uses the "Local Domains" of Mercury as there is nowhere to enter a local range.

Spamhalter, however, does have an entry for the local range.

This is what local means here according to the ClamWall manual:

You can turn off Clamwall processing for all messages produced by local mail system and
Clamwall is used for messages delivered by SMTP only. [Clamwall] NoLocal
Only messages from SMTP are checked by antivirus when this option is turned on. It not
affects checks for banned extensions! [Clamwall] NoLocalScan

Yes, both boxes in the "Message test options" are checked. I also looked in the ClamWall.ini file and set NoLocal=1, NoScanLocal=1, and NoLocalScan=1, with no effect. I guess these options don't apply to messages that come through SMTP. (I read the manual, too.) But I was hoping there would be some way to skip processing if the connections came from local IP addresses.
