multiple accounts

I use separate users for accounts that I want separate.  In many cases I use the "Add mailbox to list" to access these separate users and then set a separate identity for the inbox so replys and forwards all come from this identity.  Others I simply select the identity when sending the message.

I really do not use separate SMTP host all that much since I send via Mercury/32 anyway.  If I am using the built-in mailer though I select the identity I want to use and then use Tools | Internet options to setup the email address and smtp host I want to use for sending.

Hi guys,

I was in search of a lightweight e-mailclient and bumped on this.

It's working well but I just cannot find a way to configure multiple e-mailaccounts into the same user/identity so I can retrieve/send from these multiple accounts at the same time.

Is the only way to achieve this to use multiple identities?

Thanks in advance,

Peter

If you want to keep them fairly separate and use a different SMTP host with all of them then yes, you need to use identities.  It's the identities that will allow you to use a specified SMTP host for sending.  If yuo just use one SMTP host and really do not care if each has their own sending email address then you simply add POP3 accounts to your current identity and let it go at that.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for your quick reply!

The siutation is that I'm using a private domainname with multiple e-mailaddresses and my hosting does not have a mailserver so I have to use the smtp of my isp anyway.

In the meantime I have discovered the dropdown box to switch identities so that's not a big hassle.

Is there a way to specify a different sender for each smtp account or identity?
