Use Help | About Pegasus Mail | Info and check out the mailbox directory path. If you are not seeing any of the old folders then the path is probably wrong.
The basic structure of a single-user standalone installation should look something like this:
c:\pmail\programs the program directory
c:\pmail\mail the mail directory with the pmail.usr file
c:\pmail\mail\admin the user mail directory
The pconfig.exe should show a mailbox location c:\pmail\mail\~n
When WinPMail starts it reads the pmail.cfg file to find the mailbox directory path. It reads the pmail.usr file and if there is only one user starts as that user. If there is more than one it asks for the username. It takes the username and replaces the ~n with the username and then reads the pmail.ini in that directory.
When you get a user not found error message either the path to the mailboxes is wrong or there is not user that matches that username in the pmail.usr file.
