Could it be related to some properties which maybe were accidentally assigned to your "New mail" (inbox) folder (right mouse button) such as "... open filter set" etc.? That's the part I would check. Well, wild guess. Maybe someone else might know more ...

I got a problem with the preview mode of the folders. When I change from list mode to preview mode, my inbox is not visible. How can I restore the relevant folder?

I try to visualise what you mean - not clear.
Do you run something like a three pane window within PM with e.g.

<left> Selected folder or folder tree if expanded
<right top> email list of that folder selected above
<right bottom> preview of selected email

If I switch off "Preview mode" (under Tools) I see
<left> Selected folder or folder tree if expanded
<right top> email list of that folder selected above
<right bottom> only message saying "Message preview is disabled. ...."

Maybe you can explain a bit more or post a small screenshot here (blur or shade out information!)

Well, when I run the three pane window (preview mode) my inbox folder disappears, I can only see the other folders.
When choose to switch to the classic PM window mode with single windows for inbox and folders, I can see my inbox by clicking the icon (second icon from left).

Do you understand what I mean?
