IMAP shows only inbox folder.

Hummm... doesn't work here; just tried it (with 3.12c). When I try I get a popup that says (in part):

"You cannot drop a message onto that window or onto that part of that window.

...

You may not drop a message onto a folder where it is already located nor onto the New Mail folder."

So maybe there's a change since 3.12c? I'll be home tonight or tomorrow and will once again try 4.41 to see what I can figure out.

I mentioned in another post that I've stuck with Pegasus Mail v 3.12c because of IMAP problems with v 4.41. What happens is simple: on version 3.12c, IMAP access correctly shows both the inbox as well as other folders. When I changed to version 4.41, only the inbox shows; the others don't no matter what settings I use. I found this sort of odd, since one of the "improvements" in 4.41 was supposed to be better IMAP support.

This happens with three different (and completely unrelated) IMAP servers, so it doesn't seem to be an isolated problem. Any suggestions? I'd like to upgrade for better HTML and link support, but since I use IMAP extensively I'm unable to do so at this point.

I really do not know what to tell you here.  I setup IMAP4 all the time using the defaults except for the timeout setting which I increase to 300 and it always works.  I suspect through that there is something in your current v3.12c setup that is affecting the process.  Try installing v4.41 to a completely different directory and do a IMAP4 setup and see what happens.

FWIW, I'm on Pegasus 4.41 and have no problems with subfolders on IMAP.  What I had to get used to when first switching to IMAP a few years ago was that my many folders and subfolders (which I have nested to depth 3 or 4) were now all under the inbox, and that Pegasus maintains a separate, local New mail folder which is nothing to do with the IMAP inbox.  But it sounds as if you are thoroughly used to the IMAP protocol.

Yes, I'm reasonably familiar with IMAP, and I know about the New Mail folder. I'll take another look when I get back home; messing around with installations and testing on dialup is not a heck of a lot of fun.

By the way, an interesting trick re. the new mail folder. One minor issue with IMAP is that you can't copy or move stuff from an IMAP server to the new mail folder (local). Except that I realized how to do it the other day. Just open the remote IMAP folder, and save the file to disk. Save it in your mailbox with any name you want and a .cnm extension, and Hey Presto! There it is in your New Mail folder, locally. Since I tend to let mail sit in the New Mail folder until I respond to it, this is a handy reminder that doesn't require me shuffling through several IMAP inboxes to see what I've forgotten.

Strange, I do this all the time.  Since I'm on the road I just moved a message from and IMAP4 account to the new mail folder a couple of hours ago.
