I think the attachment icon should be bigger, more obvious, and displayed in the headers. Plus a reminder at the end of the text body. Notwithstanding the Attachments tab.

Many messages being sent only for their attachments, attachments being an essential part of everyday's work, I think it is worth making it very conspicuous. And also different from formal "attachments like html versions or signatures.

Can you please be more specific? Because I think if you look really closely at each message you get, you'll see that what you are asking for already exists.

Or does an icon more conspicuous than the little pale blue one already exist? Or is it already possible to display the name of the attachment in the headers? Or is it already possible to see a reminder that there is an attachment at the end of the message body?

What does already exist please? I know about the little pale blue icon and the Attachments tab already. I just want something visual that makes it impossible for me not to see at once there is an attachment.

So if the little pale blue attachment icon that appears in several different places in several different sizes were a bright RED, would this help you? Maybe this is where possible "skinning" implementation of pmail would be a great thing.

Your other requests depend entirely on the sender's diligence in my opinion. If I'm not mistaken to achieve what you are asking for, ie. name of attachment in header and reminder at end of message body, would require Pegasus to mess with the actual email being sent to you. In my opinion, an mail program should NEVER rewrite received messages, it should only display them if the message's formatting allows.
