I have described a typical mail client interface, which you can often see for spam management for instance:
1) Activate feature
2) Add senders
From what you write plus your smiley, I assume that is what you deem unrealistic.
The solution you suggest implies the following steps:
1) Click on Tools, then to Mail filtering rules (that is classic)
2) Make a choice between new filtering rule and new filtering set
3) Make a choice between Folder is opened or close
4) Click on Add rule
5) Select Attachments
6) Write all file extensions I work with professionally
7) Click on Set
8) Select a Folder in Pmail only
9) Click on Close
10) Click on Save
All that supposing you are familiar enough with the Pmail interface, with the concept of filtering rules, etc. Which means for a minority of users in the world. And in the end, you don"t have sub-folders automatically created for each sender, and you don't have safe backup as a reference for your work.
BTW, in the process of checking that, I noticed that you can't add criteria in one move, like the + button of Thunderbird, and the OR, AND... of search engines.
But, more generally, receiving attachments for professional modifications, saving them in sub-folders for each client, backing them up in a safe place, is really what i do everyday for a living. So if you want to judge it by a [:P] , well I still have to continue doing it anyway, and it would add productivity and attractivity if the mail client could do that for me, allowing me to concentrate on the modification of documents.
