Spamhalter and Mercury
I've used Spamhalter for a bit with Pegasus Mail, but never with my Mercury/32 system. I can't find a description of what it actually does.
It just adds a header to spam mails that you can set up a filter (in Mercury or the client) to perform what action you want, typically moving to a SPAM user for review/deletion.
I believe that it probably sends the passes to the intended recipient and the fails to a special mail account that I create. Then my mail users can forward wrong passes to a second account (to train the database).
I have 3 accounts setup, CRAP for Spamhalter hits to be

filtered into via a global filter rule, SPAM for sending missed mails

to as corrections & NOSPAM for sending False Positives to as

corrections.
Fails can be forwarded back to the intended user (if I can tell which user that was, because not all mail has the recipient in the header as opposed to the envelope).
That can be an issue if you get a lot of newsletters etc. I generally use the smtp log & timestamp info to pin down the offending ones
As I don't have a large collection of spam to hand to train the system, I'd also like to copy my words4.db3 database from Pegasus Mail and use it with Mercury.
Never tried but should be possible, AFAIK they are the same
Can I find documentation to help with all this, and can I do the forwarding in the way I have suggested?
The doc is installed with spamhalter or at ararat.cz (from memory) also quite a few posts on the forum.

I've used Spamhalter for a bit with Pegasus Mail, but never with my Mercury/32 system. I can't find a description of what it actually does. In other words, in Pegasus Mail, Spamhalter sorts mail on arrival; that which passes the test goes to my default folder and the failures go to my nominated probable spam folder.

I can't quite figure out what happens with Mercury. I believe that it probably sends the passes to the intended recipient and the fails to a special mail account that I create. Then my mail users can forward wrong passes to a second account (to train the database). Fails can be forwarded back to the intended user (if I can tell which user that was, because not all mail has the recipient in the header as opposed to the envelope).

I don't really need Spamhalter on both programs. However, some of the family are away from home and I am using Mercury to collect from several ISPs, and then forward to Webmail systems for them. What I would like to do is to spam-screen their incoming mail and forward the passes. I don't really need to screen the mail for internal accounts because I'm doing that in Pegasus Mail, but I could always turn off the Pegasus Spamhalter, I suppose.

As I don't have a large collection of spam to hand to train the system, I'd also like to copy my words4.db3 database from Pegasus Mail and use it with Mercury.

Can I find documentation to help with all this, and can I do the forwarding in the way I have suggested?

Thanks in advance.

SpamHalter will only tag the message by adding a header. It's then up to you to create a rule to handle the tagged messages (move them to a spam account, usually).

It's possible to import databases from other SpamHalter installations. A PDF manual is included in the install.

Yes, you can use Mercury to forward messages for certain users accounts. Under Configuration/Manage local users there is a forwarding button you can press to set the destination(s). To use this feature you need to check "Allow file based forwarding..." in Configuration/Mercury Core Module/Advanced.

Spamhalter in Mercury/32 tags the message with headers and you can work with the headers and filters to move the spam off to a spam user.  Here's the headers for a spam message.  I use a filter on the "X-SPAMWALL: SPAM detected!" to move the mail to the user "SPAMSCAN".  I run as spam scan every once in awhile to see if there are any false positives.

X-SPAMWALL: SPAM detected!
