From Thomas's reply it seems that concurrent running is no problem.

The install on the usb drive can potentially be used on any pc you plug it into, if that could be an advantage.

There are instruction on the forum for installing on a usb device to avoid problems when the drive letter changes.

I am using Pmail 4.41 in my notebook with VISTA in single user mode, with data files in D:\FILES\PMAIL directory and programs files in C:\PROGRAM FILES\PMAIL directory.

I also have a portable drive with Pmail files copied from another user in another PC (also single user mode) in H:\FILES\PMAIL.

Which is the best way (if  possible) to switch from single user to multiuser, but keeping those 2 sets of data files in those drive/directories?

The purpouse is sharing this notebook on travel for several weeks, using the internal disk with a set of data and the external with the other set.

Not possible since the data structure is wrong for multiuser.  All data must be on the same drive and use the drive\pmail\mail\username data format.  

You can install as multiuser and then use "Add mailbox to list" to point at the other drives & directories.

You can just use "Add mailbox to list" here to point at the portable drive location.

You could have two complete installs of Pegasus Mail, one on each drive.

Have a shortcut for each, or just start the program from the target drive.

The only issue I can see would be that only one can br the default system mailer (if you can even get that to work on Vista)

There may also be environment variable conflicts if you run both at the same time, so I would avoid that.

Can you confirm me that "adding a mailbox to the list"  will keep both data in each drive, and then, after the trip, I can just copy the data from the removable drive to other PC?.

I have seen another reply saying that I can have two complete installation (one in each drive), and run each each from them. If that works, I would prefer that solutions, without touching anything from my present configuration.

I will test it this weekend.

I think I will try this solutions first, since I would like to keep my present configuration untouched. I will test it this weekend and see what happens.

Absolutely.  Now if you are using a copy self folder then the copy self will be in the main mailbox and not the added mailbox.   I work this way when on the road with the laptop.

That works too. I have 4 separate instances of WinPMail running right now  each looking at their own data on various network volumes, both Netware and Windows.  I do a lot of copying of the glossary, addressbooks and dist. lists between these though.

I will test it this weekend.
