Using Send Command in OpenOffice applications

See my package in the downloads area that allows OpenOffice to send mail via Pegasus Mail. The url is:

The installation requires one program in OpenOffice to be replaced.See the documentation included in this zip file.

Environment:  Novell Netware 6.5 OES, Windows XP clients, OO.org versions 2.4 and 3.0, Pegasus Mail version 4.31 in network mode, Mercury/32.

Trying to use the File, Send command to send an OO document via email. Something is not quite right.  IWhen you use the command, the OO document seems to freeze.  I can manually switch over to the Pegasus Mail screen and it will be shrunk down--not minimized, but in a smaller window. If you finally close the OO document (well, you have to crash it), then it does eventually display a message in Pegasus that says "Please wait transferring to Pegasus Mail" , followed by a Pegasus Mail MAPI Interface window that says "Transfer of information complete. Please switch to Pegasus Mail using ALT-TAB to complete your message.  Because temporary files may have been created, you should ensure that you send your message before returning to theis application."  When I click close on that window, I have the empty new message window and there is an attachment.  But I can't figure out why it will not complete unless I close out of OO?  Anyone tried this before and get it to work?  It does the same thing whether I send the document as email, as PDF, etc.

 Any ideas?

Thanks, Gromit

Ok some add'l info.  I can see it create a temp file for the document to be attached in the \documents and settings\local user\local settings\temp folder.  But it's almost as if the file is locked (or both the OO file and the temp file are locked) until you release the original OO document by closing it.  Is this a MAPI issue, perhaps???

Any help would be appreciated!  Many thanks,

errr....doesn't anybody use OpenOffice?? I actually find that difficult to believe....esp. of Pegasus users.  Can anyone give me at least their ideas about why this isn't working 100%?

I have the same problem! I do a workaround. If you close Pegasus and than using the send command, there is no problem.

Just to let you know I have a replacement version of Mapi for Pegasus Mail currently undergoing final testing/packaging.  It appears to function correctly in Open Office.  Depending on your Registry settings it will work out of the box, or alternatively replace the existing SendDoc.exe in OO. I will be uploading it to the Community site this week hopefully.

Martin, that's great, I'd love to give it a try.  Will you be including some documentation with regard to the correct registry settings?

I did try closing Pegsus first, and when I use the send command it launches Pegasus, but it does not attach the file for some reason. I can see a temp version of the file has been created, but it does not get attached.
