Rich Text

Friends!

There is the possibility to tick a "Rich Text" box when writing an email. What is the advantage and disadvantage of this option.... I sometimes have the problem of emails being difficult to read at the recieving end due to their setup of their email system and how it works with the emails I send - will using "Rich Text" help or not!?

I would appreciate some comments on this!

 Thanks!

Jon

Friends!

Generally no.  A plain text message is usually the best way to go so that all can read it.  If you are sending graphics or HTML text pasted from a web site then HTML is the only way to go and this means the "Rich text" must be checked.

Also, try the following format options:

1.  Tools | Options | Sending mail, uncheck "Send attachments as separate messages" and "Enable text file autodetection when sending attachments". Check "Don't add 'attachment information' actions to Multipart messages", and "Generate multipart/alternative versions of richtext messages"

2.  Tools | Options | Messages and replies check "Use MIME features"

3.  Tools | Options | Message formatting uncheck everything under "Formatting and use of styling in messages"

I would appreciate some comments on this!

 Thanks!
