Well, if you had replied earlier (do you have email notifications enabled for threads you're posting to? I believe it's the default, but I don't remember.) I would have provided you with the latest PM-PGP beta (I'm about to publish this version anyway quite soon, I just wanted to wait for finishing the S/MIME extension because working on it resulted in several enhancements for both of them).

This is a weird error: What exactly was going on when you got it? Doesn't look like one my extension emits, more like one caused by Inno Setup.

When I open a message that is encrypted (like that you sent me yesterday), it doesn't ask for my passphrase but keep saying the one I furnished is invalid (I did not furnish anything). The only way to get off is pressing ESC key several times and them message opens and show encrypted block. I can then copy it and decrypt it manually.

This process should be carried out by PMPGP, and it worked well in the past. I really don't know what changed. I can say I'm using PMPGP 6.1.0.0 / 11-2007 and PM 4.50 - PGP 6.5.8cktb09 - WinXP (5.1), latter fully patched (do you think SP3 broke something?)

thanks for your post, for a first note: Something went wrong with your image URLs, I can only see them after quoting your post (in Firefox). Maybe you play around a bit with editing your original post for finding out how to do it properly. You can also add a (single) attachment to your posts via the "Options" Tab on top of the forum post editor.

I'm a bit at a loss with regard to your issue: My first question would be whether you changed anything lately with regard to PGP, i.e. did you update PGP or my extension? SP3 shouldn't matter as I use it as well, PGPckt may be a problem but if it worked before I don't really see a reason for not working anymore. Do you, by any chance, have older messages (by me or anyone else) created by PGP versions 8.x or 9.x which work properly? Maybe PGP itself broke backwards compatibility? I can also provide you with the latest beta of my extension, maybe this would fix your issue "by accident".

I can now tell you that my (original version) of PGP 6.5.8 works ok in most cases (did you, by any chance, test any older encrypted messages? Do they work?), but I just received a PGP 8.1 encrypted message which I can decode properly with PGP 9.x while PGP 6.5.8 gives me a Encrypted session key is bad message. The sender may have used AES as the encoding algorithm for the session key which PGP 6.5.8 doesn't support as it didn't exist when it was created. I still don't know what's causing your issue, though, but if you can decode other messages ok this may be a compatibility issue as well.

Michael, I don't think AES has anything to do with it though I'm glad you brought it into my concern. Maybe it's time to upgrade PGP. I have PGP v8.10 here and can get the last free version, but I don't think this is a must. To be honest, I'm looking forward how your S/MIME extension will do.

I had to solve my PGP problem uninstalling your PMPGP (sorry) and installing Gerard's QDPGP v2.61c (suitable for PGP658ckt use). All works fine now though I have lost the extra functionality of your extension. Anyway, as I have said, I'm not a heavy PGP user so it won't cost that much.
