Version 1.1 of the S/MIME extension with installer available

Michael,

Just picked your new package. This time it worked as expected, that is, it detected running Pegasus Mail, presented licensing, etc. Alas, I did get another error message:

As you may notice, it happened on "Configuring" stage. After clicking the dialog "OK" button, always showing the same error and addresses, it released itself from the loop and presented PMSM configuration pane, as seen below.
Thanks for reminding me of this one: Klaus reported it before but I erroneously attributed it to the (then) missing installer. I've fixed this now, there'll be another version soon including some more fixes and the Italian language resources.
I've uploaded version 1.1.1 today (although the Italian translations aren't finished yet), aside from fixing the above installation issue it fixes a certificate selection issue (some certificates wouldn't get listed) and provides pre-selection if no unique certificate can be found (for single recipient encryption only, of course). And if using the Display decryption certificate details option you'll get the encryption algorithm as well (3-DES is the only one supported for S/MIME via CAPICOM so far, but I expect AES to be added sooner or later). Hash algorithm options are currently limited as well: Only SHA-1 is available, that's why you can't change it like with my PGP extension.

Thought this might be worth a new thread: The English and German versions are now available with installer (French and Italian versions to come sooner or later), see the download section. There's no PM-SMIME homepage yet, though. Give it a try ...

Sorry, just had to change the version number of the manual (a modified copy of the PM-PGP manual), if you happened to download the installer before I did, it's supposed to read (1.1.0 / 4-2009), of course ...

Well, I have to apologize once again: The downloads accidentally contained the PM-PGP installer as well. And at least once a weird error occurred which prevented the installer from finishing: I've now implemented a speculative fix, please let me know if it still doesn't work.

Michael,

I made an attempt to install the package and got that same error dialog. This time, only PMSMEn.exe installer is in the zip package, and though they are NOT the same file (older has a MD5 of 5B594CB7E022DE003C7258FE9CD22FE1, newer has a MD5 of 88E5847F1A172E683A915AEF56790094), both terminate with Runtime Error at (4:365): Out Of Range.

As I said in my mail to you, I'll play a little more tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks for reporting, Euler, I believe I've now fixed this (installer) issue as I could finally duplicate it (a Registry key missing which I expected to exist on all systems).

It also opened PMSMHelpEn.htm local help file in the browser. Well, I'll consider this a "successful" installation, but will report back to you on any quirk. Thanks for another great Pmail extension.
