Mailbox locked (sorry if misposted)

Thanks Thomas for your quick reply.

You were right about the files being locked. I've couldn't identify which process locked it. But I tried rebooting the Mercury server and it didn't help. I then rebooted the Netware server containing the user PMAIL folders (after requesting all users to shutdown their pc's), and that did the trick.

On behalf of my clients many thanks...

Hello,

I'm new to the world of pegasus en mercury (and this forum) and would like to share a problem I face with two clients.

Both of them are unable to access their mailboxes, since they probably (?) crashed.

I took the following steps:
- deleted the mailboxp.lck file, no solution

- removed large .cnm files, so solution

- trying to remove the hierach file, no access

Is there a way to recreate an empty mailbox and then re-import the mails and settings?

Some of the files incl. pmail.ini en hierarch.pm are locked (access blocked by the file system?). I can rename the PMAIL directory though.

Any thoughts on this would help me out...

My apoligies if misposted or not applying to posting rules.

This should not be a problem.  In a Mercury setup you can create a new user and have the user run PMail as that username.  You can copy the PMM/PMI folders and PMR/PM! Address books to that directory.

Some of the files incl. pmail.ini en hierarch.pm are locked (access

This is the problem and cannot be fixed until you find the program holding these files open.

Any thoughts on this would help me out...
