Archiving with Filing Trays

I'm a bit confused about why you have these folders and trays in your mailbox. I can only think that you created them temporarily whilst sorting your mail for archiving, then dragged the contents to identical folders in the archive mailbox.

Whatever the reason, you should definitely try to connect to your archive again and ensure everything exists happily. Connecting shouldn't in itself break anything. If it was broken it will display as broken, if it was fine it will display fine. Obviously, if it's broken or things are missing, you'll need to start the archiving process again.

You can then delete any empty folders in your primary mailbox. If you're worried about any of this, backup all mail folders before you even open Pegasus. Then, if you get into a mess, you're covered!

[apologies for the above from MS Word]

I don’t think that this question has been raised before [if

it has, I cannot find it] but please accept my apologies if it has and point me

to the right location or search string.

I wanted to archive some mail from my [single user] Pegasus so

followed the instructions in the second item of ‘General Problems and Questions’

in the Announcements and FAQ’s part of the Pegasus Mail FAQ forum.  [Create a new mailbox called ‘archive’ say

and add folders to it then drag and drop.

Finally, disconnect the mailbox until needed.]

In fact I created both filing trays and folders in my

archive to give a better structure to it and then disconnected.  I now have the newly created filing trays [which

appear to be empty] in my ‘My Mailbox’ along with all the other trays and

folders that were always there.

Question : can I delete them?  or will that trash my archive?

Question : will my archive have lost its structure, i.e.

have no trays?

Many thanks
