What are ".mc" files and can I get rid of them?

Thanks....That was exactly what I was looking for!  I remember turning on logging, but never turned it off, so this should fix it.

I have been running v. 3.21c for several years and backing up the entire directory to another server regularly.  As the volume of mail as increased, I have noticed a bunch of files that begin with "TCP" followed by a number, then .mc have been increasing to the point where my backups are now in the 7 GB range.  I looked at one of the files in Notepad and found it to be a large spam (lots of HTML tags, etc.), so I assume there are all either rejected messages or copies of messages that have gone through to users.

If I had to restore Mercury 32 from a backup, would I need these .MC files?

They would be session log files, probably for MercC (I don't use MercC, but I have TCP*.MS for MercS & TCP*.ME for MercE).

It is a complete transcript of each transaction by that particular module.

You can safely delete these, and turn off session logging in MercC!
