You may have been forwarding the message - I got hit by a similar block.

I'm trying to send an email to the PMail email list.  I'm getting an error saying:

Your posting to the PM-WIN list has been rejected because it contains an
attachment of type 'APPLICATION/OCTET-STREAM'.  The PM-WIN list has been
configured to reject such attachments;  please contact the list owner at
PM-WIN-request@BAMA.UA.EDU for more information.

How can I fix that?

 The PMail list is set to block all attachments and enclosures containing files so you cannot not send attachments or enclosures to the list.  This includes in-line graphics and graphics in signature file since these are sent as MIME enclosures.

No binary attachments. Send just plain text or HTML text and only ascii text attachment.

What is it that you are trying to send to the list members? Why can't it be plain text?

I thought all I was sending was plain Text.  I just looked at the email I sent and it shows an attachment.

Attachments:
  C:\DOCUME~1\Gary\LOCALS~1\Temp\WPM$6E46.PM$

I just looked in my temp folder and found the text of the email in that file.

I have no idea why it was included as an attachment with the email.

Is there some setting that would do that?
