Forwarding HTML message after edit

Hi guys,

I know I'm going to feel foolish when I find out what I'm doing wrong, but here goes....

When I forward an HTML message without editting, my recipient sees it as HTML. If I edit the message before forwarding only the plain text version is visible. The HTML part and any images are forwarded but it just can't be viewed as HTML.

I normally default to viewing every message as plain text and click the 'View' button when I want to see the HTML version.

 I am running  PM 4.51 but this isn't a new problem.

  • Check under the Options menu, Sending. Is the checkbox set for 'always send plaintext'?
  • Also prior to sending, within the editor is the checkbox "Rich text' set?

Those are the two items I would check first.

Go to "Tools -> Options" and then choose "Outgoing Mail -> Messages and replies". Then enable "Rich (formatted) text. Now, if you reply with editing, everything should work fine (in this case you'll see that the "Rich text" option within the message editor is switched on).

Hi Sven,  that option was set to 'plain text' but changing it to 'rich text' did not solve the problem.

I am testing this by forwarding a message that has HTML to myself. As soon as I get the screen to edit my forwarded message, it is in plain text, not HTML.

Very strange. I just tried it again and it works for me.
