<P>Hello,</P> <P> I've been testing Mercury/32 and it is a great mail server.  Now that the newest version can be run as a native windows service, I think it meets all of my needs.  I do have a couple questions about how the GUI works with this version.</P> <P>1.  If I have Mercury running as a service, can I launch the GUI to view real time logs or do troubleshooting?  Once I'm done can I just exit out of the GUI and Mercury will still be running as a service?</P> <P>2. If #1 above does not work, do I have to stop Mercury service then launch the GUI to view real time.  Once I'm done with the GUI, I exit then start the Mercury service?</P> <P>3. If I need to make changes, can I make the changes in the GUI then restart the Mercury service?  I assume so.</P> <P> Thanks for you help!</P>

<P>1. No - however you can start the service with GUI interaction, but not on Vista/Srvr2008 or later. If you then close the GUI, you have to act accordingly with #2 as you stated above.</P><P>2. Correct</P><P>3. Stop the service, launch GUI, make changes, stop GUI, start service. Alternatively, you can change most fileconfigs manually and restart the service, or a little later use Rolf Lindbys HttpServer which works this way, however the service version of HttpServer is still in test-phase.</P>
