Can anyone give me some information about restoring archived child-folders in Pegasus Mail, please?

When archiving a 'top level' mail folder I right-click the folder, get the folder name and archive the pmm and pmi files to CD. Restoring is a simple matter of reversing the process.

However, although I can get the folder name for 'child folders' I am not sure that I can restore them so that the same folder heirarchy is also restored.

I have a situation at work where several members of staff have a folder structure that includes trays and child folders. In some instances I need to archive some of the child folders, but not all of them. Will restoring the child folders automatically restore them to the original tray? Or, will they appear as a 'top level' folder after being restored.

I don't want to start doing this if there is another file that needs to be included with the archive.

Also, I seem to recall a thread where it was advised not to use the same name for child folders in different trays. Can this affect the ability to restore the child folders?

 You can restore the files (both PMM and PMI) from CD when Pegasus Mail is not running.

Remember to remove any read-only attribute set when you copy back from cd. 

Pegasus Mail will just see the restored folder and no longer the old one, thuis the folder will be in the right place in the hierarchy.

If  you however want the restored folder ADDED to the hierarchy, you need change the filename  for both the PMI and PMM files, before you copy them back into the home mailbox directory. In this caese you need to manually move them to the right place in the hierarchy.

 I suggest BTW to use PMRestARch.exe (available from http://www.lexacorp.com.pg (freeware) ) for save backup and restore. This util renames the internal unique file-id which will prevent folders from overwriting each other at restore-time.
