Windows 7 - 100%cpu and will not close

I had a similar problem on windows XP with Pegasus 4.61, eating up most of the CPU power. Now the fan comes to rest again.

In the german version it is: Extras -> Einstellungen -> Erweiterte Einstellungen -> Windows Internet Services laden -> immer.

Thanks for the help

Have discovered following new problems with 4.51:

1) Overnight Pegasus loses network connection. It will not talk to pop3 or smtp servers. I have to shut it down and restart it.. This leads to next problem.

2) Closing pegasus does not close the winpm-32.exe, you just lose the visual window and you have to use task manager to kill it completely.

3) It also goes into 100% cpu usage and only the fact I have dual core hides this.

Do you have preview enabled and automatic image download (on Tools => Options => Message reader)? If so try setting Load Window Internet Services ... to Always on Tools => Options =>Advanced settings.

Do you use any of my PGP or S/MIME extensions?

Michael,

So far after a few days your suggestion about making the services "always" has worked.

The second point about PGP and S/MIME the answer is no I don't use any.

Have just tested closing pegasus down and now without the internet failure and  it exits correctly. Fingures crossed the two issues were connected and the solution to the first has fixed the second.
