We have been using Pegasus for almost 2 decades now.
Our hair is getting greyer by the day; not because of any intrinsic problems with Pegasus ( which we sponsor) but because there appears to be no thought given to file corruption, re-indexing or file administration.
We found a really wonderfull export program: "MailBag Assistant" I was really impressed, we can see and read data from thousands of archives. . . .
But . . .
after cleaning up 'ghost' folders and other problems, how can we re-import back to Pegasus ?
Our basic questions can be simplified:
1) We need to re-organise a very large Pegasus installation suffering from corruption and several minutes shut-down time.
2) We desire to perform a clean install of Pegasus on a new PC. (Rather obviously) We desire to save our file structure, email accounts and previous messages ( preferable selected messages from, as an example, the preceeding year )
3) We do NOT wish do "copy" a corrupt dataset from Todays installation. Thus simple "copy all the files" type of advice is unneccessary.
Adress books are irrelevant. Only messages are of importance.
It seems most unlikely that we are the first users that wish to clean-up and re-install Pegusus amoung the millions of users, but we are at a loss to understand how to achive the basic task of import and export from a modern database.
Many thanks for any assistance that community users can provide,
Tony
