Connection refused inbound mail

I can connect to loadyourgun.com:576 OK, so I would definitely suspect the easydns config.

You should get back to the tech guy to help figure it out. :)

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and must say am by no means a expert in IP.

I have been running mecury mail for a few years without issue until recently when my ISP  decided to block port 25 in and out bound (rightfully so i might add)

I use easydns for my dns and lucky for me they support port fowarding. I was able to send mail from my server on a different port without issues after stopping mercurye and running mercuryc. I also have them send me my mail on a different port in this case 576 ( i also tried 2025) and just put in a forward on my router to port 25. I can telnet to my domain on port 576 and I get a response from mercury. But any mail relayed from easydns does not get through to me. I called there tech support and they confirmed they see a connection refused when forwarding mail to my server. I don't see the connections in the log files and not understanding exactly why they were being refused disabled filtering, and added smtp.easydns.com's ip address to the connection control as allow and still no luck.

Thanks for any help in advance.

I don't see the connections in the log files

That means the problem is upstream, not any Mercury configuration.

Check your firewall, port forward, router & easydns settings (are they pointing to the right IP address?)

Is this from outside your LAN?

What about from outside your ISP? (maybe try it from a cafe or friends place)

Hey thanks for the quick response mate.

What I did was telnet to forwarding port from outside of my network. ( I have a evdo connection as well as my regular isp) and it did connect me to mercury so the port forward to port 25 is fine.I do run ddns but double checked to make sure the ip was right on easydns and it was my easydns records are fairly simple i show the zone loadyourgun.com ( no im not a gun nut) pointing to mail.loadyourgun.com:576  and i do have a cname record for mail.loadyourgun.com pointing to loadyourgun.com.

Wierd thing is you don't get any bounce msg or anything. All i have to go by was the easydns tech guy saying he sees connection refused
