Hi everyone

Can any one, please make me clear about either this will work ? or what should i do to make this email address work under pegasus mail, the email address is "assistant.programmes.administrators@mydomain.com"

Nope, a couple of characters too long unless your real domain name is shorter.  To make it work you can use asst.programmes.administors@mydomain.com  but I would make it asst.prog.admins@mydomain.com

Edit:  Better yet, keep the username 8 characters or less (i.e. Admins) and make the personal name "Assistant Programmes Administrators"

So the maxm charater length is 40 including the domain name ?

I really have no idea what the maximum length is but the address you provided gets truncated in the Reply To: and From: fields when using the Mercury UDG.   You may find if using the built-in mailer there may be different lengths available.

Sorry for the late response and sorry Thomas R. Stephenson I didn't get you. You mean the mail server is responsible for handling the long email address not the pegasus mail

See wikipedia for rfc links http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-mail_address RFC 5322 seems to be the RFC to hold the answer. It does change by mail server (SendMail/Qmail/Mercury and of course Exchange) have different limits
