<p>This appears to be mostly a Mercury settings issue so I've moved it to the Mercury support forum.</p><p>There are various ways to stop spam and using reputable DNSBLs and SpamHalter are two good ones. You can consider using Graywall as well - it will delay good mail a bit but stops a lot of trash.</p><p>In Mercury make sure that relaying has been restricted. Go to MercuryS configuration, Connection control and verify that at least "Use strict local relaying restrictions" is clicked. "Only authenticated SMTP connections may relay mail" gives the highest protection.</p><p>In  MercuryS configuration, General you should normally not have "Accept mail for invalid local addresses" checked.</p><p>Finally make sure that all the spam that is tagged by blacklists or SpamHalter are moved to a spam control account by a global rule.</p><p>Any spam message addressed to you that is not caught by an anti-spam measure will simply end up in your mailbox, and will not cause any bounce notification. To be quite sure not to send replies to spam you may want to avoid using autoreplies, though.</p><p>/Rolf </p>

<p>Hello,</p> <p> I am running Mercury32 4.72 via </p> <p mce_keep="true"> </p> <p>At one point I started getting spam to a mailbox and it was benign till the flood gates opened 2 weeks ago... The spammers are from china and send 100+ emails per hour to two email addresses of mine. I deployed Zen.Spamhaus and SpamCop to filter the mail,,, 2 to 6 still get through an hour...</p> <p mce_keep="true"> </p> <p> I got a warning from my ISP and I think it is due to the traffic I recieve from the spammer but I need to know if somehow I am being used as the spammer... people are telling me I am being used to bounce mail but i can't see it because all the mail is addressed to me...
