I have installed Pegasus 4.51 on  a memory stick as drive e: and it works fine.

When I roam and the drive changes it does not work. I comes up and asks me for a user.

I just looked at the identites and added another besides the default.

Any other suggestions to getting this to work?

Thank you,

Chuck

Are you sure you have selected the - ROAM commanline option??

-ROAM  This option tells Pegasus Mail that it should ignore the configured drive letter when locating user mailboxes and mail files, and should instead use the drive letter of the drive from which WINPM-32.EXE was run. If Pegasus Mail and your mailbox directories are located on the same physical drive, you should always use this option. -ROAM greatly simplifies running the program on Peer-to-Peer and non-NetWare networks, because it allows the same copy of the program tobe run no matter what drive letter mappings exist on the particular workstation where it runs. This switch also allows you to install a complete, working copy of Pegasus Mail, complete with mailboxes, onto a memory stick, and to use that memory stick in any computer where it is subsequently plugged. You must not use this switch if Pegasus Mail and your mailbox directories cannot be accessed using the same drive letter. This switch is ignored and has no effect in either Novell NetWare operating mode.

For what is worth, I have since learned, I can modify the drive letter on the visiting system to the drive I installed Pegasus on the first time, and it works fine from a USB stick.

It askes me for a user - that I type in admin and then move along.

If you have installed Pmail complete on a USB Stick and you have used the default settings you can create a new text file with notepad and write one line:

start PMAIL\Programs\winpm-32.exe -roam -A

then safe the file as Pmail_USB.txt close it and change the name it to: Pmail_USB.cmd Make sure that the file ends with: ".cmd" In this example the USB installation looks like this (Where the file "winpm-32.exe" is) :

E:\PMAIL\Programs

Then you must place the file "Pmail_USB.cmd" in the root directory (E:\) of the USB - Stick. You can then use the Pmail -USB - stick on every computers / OS (Win2000/XP/Vista) and start Pegasusmail simply with double click on the file "Pmail_USB.cmd" without any problems and without change a drive letter.
