I can confirm this on the release version of Win7.
For me, the problem affects MOST folders, but not all. I need to click on "text only" or "graphics only" to make the buttons visible. Then, clicking on "text and graphics" works. If the window is closed, the buttons are missing again on re-opening.
So far, from the other (awkwardly long and disjointed thread) it seems that different folks see different symptoms at different times. Some degree of intermittancy is pretty obvious.
This is going to be a tricky one to debug. :-(
