Setting up Mercury C as an end to end smtp server

As DLN says.

Have you changed provider? Are they not offering a different relay?

Hi

I need to set up my Mercury C SMTP client as an end to end smtp server, does anyone know what the settings would be. Is it as simple as using my server name as host and designating a port?

I don't quite understand your question.  What are you trying to do?

MercuryE is the normal direct end-to-end delivery module, while MercuryC is for use with a relay host.

Thanks for replying.

Due to a change to uncapped ADSL I seeming cannot use my previous providers of smtp services. I can I hear use Mercury to send mail directly out (I assume thats what end to end means).  If I use Mercury E are there any settings I need or is it a matter of disabling mercuryC and enabling Mercury E?

Basically yes, but....

The help file shows the settings required for MercE.

It depends on your connection type and the policies of your old & new providers.

If you have a dynamic IP a lot of servers will refuse your connections.

If your provider blocks port 25 you are out of luck, is this why you can't connect to your previous provider?

If it is simply because you are no longer connecting from their IP pool, you should still be able to use MercC with your old provider if you set up authentication. Or use MercC with your new providers SMTP server.

Generally you will have a lot less trouble with MercC.
