SMTP Client: "Policy Rejection- Message size too big"

Hi

i updated from 4.6 to 4.72 on windows and have a size problem.
all mails larger than 10 MB will be returned with the message "Policy Rejection- Message size too big".

the mercury SMTP Server processes this mail, but the SMTP client seems to generate this message.

SMTP client-log:
T 20091218 112935 19c RCPT TO:<xxx@xxx.xx>
E 20091218 112935 19c 554 5.7.1 <xxxx@xxx.xx>: Recipient address rejected: Policy Rejection- Messa

the smarthost can handel large mails.
if i dont use the mercury SMTP client, but send directly to the smarthost from my mail-program, all emails reach their destinations.

is there somewhere a size-limit for the SMTP client?

Not according to that error message, seems pretty clear.

The only size limit is in the SMTP server (and in your relay host [:)])

Are you using the same server via your clients?

Do you authenticate? (maybe allows larger messages if so)

Have a look in the MercC session log, the relay should announce any SIZE parameter after the initial greeting.

ok the mercuryc-log is helpfull:

its seems that when i use the mercury smpt-Client with "use ESMTP" checked, the relay host answers "Policy Rejection- Message size too big".
with my local test-email-programm i think i dont use ESMTP but SMPT and everything works fine.

but when i try to send mails with " use ESMTP" unchecked, the mercury smtp-Client does not authenticate and the relay host answers "Relay access denied".
But the credentials are configured for the mercury smtp-Client.

is authentication a ESMTP feature?
